The planning gap in event production software
Most AV and event production companies already run a rental or inventory system. It handles quotes, availability, bookings, stock and invoicing, and it is very good at that. What it does not do well is describe how a show is wired. The system diagram still lives in a Visio file on someone's laptop, a PDF sketch, or a whiteboard photo in the job's email thread. The patch list is a spreadsheet that drifts from the diagram. The packlist is typed out by hand.
That gap is where jobs go wrong: the converter nobody put on the pick list, the cable that is five metres short, the crew who arrive with a different diagram from the one the designer finished last night.

H2R Gear is the planning and documentation layer. You draw the show as a signal flow diagram using real gear, connect cables between real inputs and outputs, and label each cable with an ID and a length. From that one plan you get a packlist for prep and a patch list for the crew, and they stay in step with the diagram because they are built from it.
To be clear about what it is not: H2R Gear has no inventory, stock tracking, quoting, invoicing or crew scheduling, and it does not integrate with other software. Keep Current RMS, Rentman, Flex or whatever you use for the business side. Put the rental system's job number into the plan's Job ID field so the two are easy to match, and use the packlist CSV export when you want to cross-check a pick list.

A team gear library that matches your stock
The community library covers a lot of common gear, but a production company's kit is its own. Custom-built stage boxes, rack-mounted packages, the company's standard video world. With the gear builder you create each item once, with its real inputs and outputs, connector types and colours, an image and an internal gear ID, and save it to the team library. Every designer uses the same models, so diagrams look consistent and packlists use your naming. When an item is replaced, use Replace with to swap it on existing plans.
From design to prep to show day
A typical job flows like this. The designer builds the plan, adds the Job ID, event dates and rigging dates, and uses zones for stage, FOH and control. They attach the client's rider and the venue's floor plan to a project. The warehouse team opens the packlist, ticks items off as they prep, and the progress percentage shows on the plan card so the project manager can see how close the job is to ready. On site, the crew works from the patch list and an exported PDF. Afterwards, archive the plan, and next year's version of the same event starts as a duplicate.

Small Team is $25 per month or $250 per year: 150 active plans, everything in Pro, three team members included and $8 per month for each extra member. Growth Team is $80 per month or $800 per year: 250 active plans, everything in Pro, ten team members included and $5 per month for each extra member. Team members, including freelancers you bring in for a season, do not need their own subscription; they get Pro features while they are on the team.
